M.I.C.E.
MICE took place on December 8th and 9th, and even though I wasn’t a vendor this time, I really wanted to attend. Matt came with me again, and we woke up extra early to drive through a snowstorm to get to Boston. We still made it with enough time for breakfast before heading into Boston University as soon as the doors opened. Since we were only planning to stay for Saturday, I went in with a clear objective: find the artists I met at SPX. It felt good to reconnect with them, s

A Celebration of 16 Years - The Night Everything Came Together
November 15th, 2025 marked sixteen years of Rin’s Comet. Sixteen years since I started this dream, sixteen years of learning every part of comic making through trial, error, and determination. I knew I could not let the anniversary pass quietly. I wanted to honor the work, the people who supported it, and the version of myself who kept going even when it felt impossible. So I organized a celebration at the Asbury Park Brewery, a full night of music, art, and community. I book

First Fridays November - A Stillness Before The Final Countdown
November’s First Fridays had a different weight to it. Local Summer was long gone, Halloween already behind us, and the whole town felt a little muted in a way no one needed to say out loud. There was something in the air that everyone seemed to be carrying, a shared heaviness that settled over the night. Even so, the music helped. The Foes of Fern played and brought a small lift to the space, just enough to make things feel a bit lighter. This was also my first event back si

Rin's Comet Part III Production Complete
At two in the morning on October twelfth, I finally hit submit on the print order for Rin’s Comet Part III. It felt unreal to see the confirmation screen after spending most of the year working on this book in between Survifern planning, events, and everything else that pulled at my attention. This was the first comic I had finished since Lab Partners in 2023, and the first Rin’s Comet book since 2020. I worked more events this year than any other, and every time someone stop

Small Press Expo 2025
Small Press Expo took place on September 14th and 15th, and getting the chance to table here felt huge. When I found out I was accepted, I was ecstatic. SPX has always been the place I knew I needed to be. Two years ago, I discovered the event only days before it happened and drove from Asbury Park to Rockville just to see it for myself. I remember stepping inside and realizing instantly that this was the room I had been searching for, a room full of creators and storytellers

First Fridays – Post‑Survifern Recovery Mode
First Fridays last night felt like stepping out of one world and back into another. Survifern had only ended a week ago, and everyone was still in that dazed, half‑present state where you can tell they are physically there but mentally still somewhere in the woods. The energy of Local Summer has officially arrived though, and it is pushing the whole town forward whether anyone is ready or not. I was making jokes about hiding Foe Coins around my table, trying to lighten the mo

Rebuilding ANTR - The Lab Partners Telephone Puzzle
One of my favorite moments of the season was the Final 12 challenge, which I had the chance to design and host. It called back to the very first pre‑season challenge, a Rin’s Comet puzzle, but this time it centered on A Night To Remember and played out like a chaotic game of telephone. By this point in the season, the team structure had dissolved into what we call Mergatory, leaving twelve players split at random into four teams of three. Each player took on a specific role:

Survifern: Foes vs Favorites
Survifern’s main weekend ran from August 29th through August 31st, but for me it really started the Thursday before and didn’t end until Monday. The entire week leading up to it was a blur of planning, final checks, supply runs, and making sure every build, prop, and challenge station was ready to go. I was in charge of scheduling this year: coordinating production teams, making sure each group had enough hands, and keeping everyone aligned on where they needed to be and when

It All Starts Here - Survifern kickoff 2025
Survifern: Foes vs Favorites kicked off its with a special day long event on Sunday, August 25th, a full week before the main weekend. This was the biggest cast we’ve ever had: twenty players total, fourteen returning veterans and six new bloods ready to prove themselves. Before the season could officially begin, we needed to determine who would be safe on the first night and reveal the two teams, The Favorites and The Foes. To do that, we sent everyone into a massive town‑wi
